The Living Tradition of St Seraphim of Sarov

Aims:
- To introduce the life and legacy of St Seraphim of Sarov and to explore its importance in the Orthodox tradition.
- To introduce the doctrine of theosis and examine its manifestation in the life of a holy person, the life of St Seraphim of Sarov.
- To consider the historical, spiritual, and theological context in which St Seraphim lived and in which his living legacy has been transmitted and is operative today.
- To examine the contemporary relevance of the witness of St Seraphim for today.

Many people of all ages and walks of life experience great closeness to St Seraphim a closeness that can influence their whole life, its rhythm, direction, action and prayer. This study day explores different aspects of this relationship from perspectives of personal, contemporary and eternal relevance.
